Zonta Club of Toledo I annually offers two different local scholarship opportunities to young women in the community who are preparing themselves to be leaders of tomorrow.
Young Women in Public Affairs Award
This program from Zonta International encourages young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing a young woman’s (age 16-19) commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Applicants are asked to reflect upon their lives, their commitment to the communities in which they live, and the role models that have inspired them to become involved in their community or in a specific career. One individual who attends secondary school, college or university is selected through a competitive application process to receive this $1,000 award which is presented at our Annual Installation Banquet in May.
